We’re looking for a Digital Content & SEO Executive to play a hands-on role in growing the visibility of St John Ambulance’s eCommerce websites. From blogs and landing pages to technical audits and keyword research, you’ll use your curiosity and creativity to improve rankings, drive organic traffic, and support our training and supplies business, while contributing to a national charity with a life-saving mission.

Job Summary
The Digital Content & SEO Executive will own the planning, creation, and optimisation of all content across St John Ambulance’s eCommerce websites, from landing pages and blogs to category copy and downloadable resources. Using tools such as SISTRIX, InLinks, and Screaming Frog, they will shape a search-led content strategy, identify opportunities for growth, and ensure the website is structured and optimised for visibility and conversion. This role is central to driving organic traffic and supporting trading priorities, working closely with the eCommerce, CRM, and Campaigns teams to deliver content that engages audiences and achieves commercial goals.
About You
You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C / 4) including Maths & English, minimum 5 , and have experience with the following:
producing SEO-optimised copy across multiple formats (blogs, landing pages, category/product pages), producing or managing downloadable resources (e.g. guides, white papers, toolkits) using keyword research and clustering tools (e.g. SISTRIX, InLinks) to inform content plans managing Google Business Profile (or similar local SEO platforms) carrying out technical SEO audits (e.g. Screaming Frog) and coordinating fixes with developers or third parties You will need the following skills:
have strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret SEO data and make practical recommendations and be organised and able to manage multiple content projects to deadlines have awareness of digital analytics trends, tools, and best practices knowledge of on-page SEO best practices and their application to content creation the ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams
About the role
Content Planning & Creation: Develop SEO-led content plans informed by keyword research and topic clustering, producing engaging, search-optimised copy that supports trading and campaign priorities. Website Content Ownership: Responsible for planning, creating, and maintaining all content assets across the eCommerce website and associated channels (blogs, landing pages, product/category pages, downloadable resources, etc.). Keyword & Topic Research: Use SISTRIX, InLinks, and other SEO tools to identify keyword opportunities and content gaps that will drive visibility and organic growth. Google Business Profile: Manage and optimise St John Ambulance’s Google Business Profile, ensuring accuracy, visibility, and engagement. On-page Optimisation: Apply SEO best practice to titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, and copy to improve rankings and click-through rates. Technical SEO: Carry out regular audits using Screaming Frog (or similar tools), highlight issues, and coordinate fixes with the eCommerce team, developers, or third parties. Performance Tracking: Monitor content performance using Google Analytics, Search Console, and SISTRIX, providing reports and practical recommendations for improvement. Competitor & Market Insight: Track competitor SEO and content activity, sharing insights and opportunities with the wider team. SEO Best Practice: Stay up to date with algorithm changes, evolving search behaviours (including AI-driven and conversational search), and apply learning to improve content performance. Collaboration: Work closely with eCommerce, CRM, and Campaigns teams to ensure content is aligned with trading priorities, campaigns, and brand objectives. Flexibility: Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, band, and skills of the post-holder.
